Job description:
Coats & Clark, a Spinrite company, is looking for a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician to join our team in Toccoa, GA. There is a required training period on 1st shift before moving to 2nd shift. Normal hours are Monday – Thursday. Overtime is possible on Friday. Pay will be based on experience. We are paid weekly and offer 401K match, insurance benefits upon hire, paid vacation and many other benefits.
Shift times are: 1st shift: 5:00 am – 3:00 pm
2nd shift: 3:00 pm – 1:00 am
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to resolve machine problems as they occur and ensure smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical controls/systems related to motors and motor controls, VFD's, PLC's, sensor and switch circuitry, and other types of equipment control circuits.
- Strong ability to comprehend and explain complex industrial electronic controls, electrical schematics, ladder logic, electrical drawings, blueprints or CAD drawings.
- Ability to perform mechanical maintenance related to repairing industrial equipment, replacing motors/drives and maintaining PM's on all major equipment. This will include troubleshooting equipment breakdowns, performing regular services and installation of new equipment,
- Familiar with fundamentals, operations, schematics and repairs related to pneumatic systems.
- Familiar with operations and repairs related to hydraulic systems.
- Perform maintenance in accordance with company policy.
- Communicate with supervisors daily on issues concerning the department.
- Create a team atmosphere.
- Conduct Safety inspections.
- Perform maintenance audits.
- Perform maintenance training.
- Ability to enter work request and complete work orders with explanation of work performed in the Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills; to quickly ascertain a situation and be decisive in solving it, such as identifying defects with equipment across the entire production line.
- Exceptional communication skills; ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read schematics/prints.
- Knowledge of PLC and AC/DC drives.
Experience:
- 5 plus years maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- 1 year experience may be from equivalent technical educational training in a relevant field.
